Luke Littler returns to the
World Series of Darts circuit this Friday night after having to miss the Nordic Darts Masters last weekend due to a pre-planned family holiday in Orlando.
This week, 'The Nuke' will compete at the
Poland Darts Masters in Gliwice. At that event, Littler will take on Czech talent
Adam Gawlas in the first round. It is not the first time the two players have met on a major stage. Littler and Gawlas faced each other in 2023 at the UK Open. Then Gawlas won and eventually the Czech would reach the semifinals of that major tournament, his best career result on the PDC's big stages.
“It was going to be tough no matter who I played. I think it’s a really strong field of players, and I know what Adam is capable of,'' said Littler ahead of the duel with Gawlas in conversation with the PDC's
official website. Since that UK Open dual last year however, Littler has since undergone a big change in his status within the sport of darts. The 17-year-old Englishman made it to the final of the World Darts Championship earlier this year, won the 2024 Premier League Darts in his debut campaign and has unleashed tremendous media hype for the sport not seen in a very long time, if ever before. As such, all eyes will once again be on the 17-year-old this Friday night as he makes the trip to Poland.
“The Premier League win was massive for me. I’ve got that under my belt now, but all my focus is on this weekend in Poland," Littler says. “It’s going to be another good experience for me; a different crowd, a different stage. I’m looking forward to it. I love playing in front of big crowds, so hopefully I can put on a show for them and get the win."
