Monday, August 25, and Tuesday, August 26, the next two Players Championship tournaments are scheduled. Floor tournaments 24 and 25 will be finished at the Arena MK in Milton Keynes, and it can all be followed live via a stream from the PDC.
While during the last two Players Championship tournaments in Hildesheim many big names such as Luke Humphries, Luke Littler, Michael van Gerwen, Gerwyn Price, Jonny Clayton, Josh Rock, Stephen Bunting, Damon Heta, Michael Smith and Chris Dobey decided not to travel to Germany, they will be back in Milton Keynes. Of the above names, only Luke Humphries, Josh Rock and Chris Dobey will also not be present in England.

Partly due to the many cancellations for these floor tournaments of some of the top players throughout the year, there are a number of big names who still have a lot to do in the upcoming Players Championship tournaments. In November, the Players Championship Finals are scheduled, where only the 64 best players of the PDC Players Championship Order of Merit can compete.
Luke Littler is currently in spot 58, which would place him just barely. Thus, 'The Nuke' cannot afford to skip too many more tournaments. But with a few good results, he should qualify relatively easily. Humphries is slightly higher in 55th place, so the same applies to him as to Littler.
For Van Gerwen, however, there really is still a lot of work to do. The Dutchman has missed many tournaments, and the ones he participated in he simply underperformed. This leaves him in only a paltry 117th place. This means 'Mighty Mike' will have to get some good results in the last few tournaments if he does not want to miss out on the Players Championship Finals. Other notable names currently missing out are Nathan Aspinall (69th place) and Dimitri van den Bergh (103rd place).

Livestream via PDCTV

All matches on the four main boards can be watched live via PDCTV, the PDC's official streaming channel. Fans can choose from several subscription options: a monthly pass (ÂŁ9.99), an annual subscription (ÂŁ59.99) or a flexible multi-day short-use pass. This gives fans a unique opportunity to also experience the Players Championship tournaments up close - the floor tournaments where new stars emerge and established names sometimes lose out surprisingly early.

What are the Players Championship tournaments?

The Players Championship cycle forms the backbone of the PDC Pro Tour. No fewer than 34 tournaments are scheduled in 2025, spread across cities such as Wigan, Rosmalen, Leicester, Milton Keynes and, of course, Hildesheim. These are the infamous "floor tournaments," matches behind closed doors where the 128 Tour Card holders compete quietly, but with maximum stakes, for prize money, ranking points and coveted qualifying spots.
When a Tour Card holder is absent, players from the Challenge Tour Order of Merit move in. This way the level remains as high as ever and newcomers get the chance to compete with the established names.
For many players, the Players Championships are simply indispensable. Not only do they provide match fitness and much-needed income, but they are also the direct route to the major TV stages. In fact, for the Players Championship Finals, only performance at these 34 events is decisive.
Darters who are not (yet) regulars on the television stages must use these floor tournaments to force their entry into iconic majors such as the World Matchplay, the World Grand Prix, the European Darts Championship and, of course, the highlight of the season: the World Darts Championship.
