A trio of Players Championship events is on the agenda of many of the top players in the world, hosted between 30th September and 2nd October at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester, and available to watch on PDCTV.

It is a stacked lineup this week as the Players Championship Finals close in, with all the big names ready to battle it out in Leicester after the majority of them competed in Basel in the penultimate event on the European Tour. The only major absentee will be Luke Littler in PC 30.

This three-event stretch marks a crucial checkpoint on the road to qualification for the Players Championship Finals later this year. Once all 34 Players Championship tournaments are completed, the top 64 in the rankings will secure their place at the prestigious major in Minehead.

For Michael van Gerwen, the pressure is mounting. The Dutchman, known as ‘Mighty Mike,’ finds himself languishing in 103rd place — a staggering £9,500 adrift of the qualification cut-off.

He’s not the only big name under threat. Rising star Luke Littler sits in 58th but hasn’t locked in his spot yet, while world champion Luke Humphries (66th), Nathan Aspinall (73rd), Kim Huybrechts (78th), and Dimitri van den Bergh (112th) are all fighting to climb the standings and keep their hopes alive for a place at Minehead.
