The
World Cup of Darts will be fiercely competed by a number
of countries searching for glory in Frankfurt. The unique event will be played
from June 11-14 at the Eissporthalle in Frankfurt. It is the 16th
staging of the event.
As usual Sky Sports will be broadcasting all the action in
the UK. Also it will be shown worldwide also on PDC's International broadcast
partners including DAZN, Viaplay and VTM. It is also shown worldwide on
PDCTV excluding
UK, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
Who is competing?
Northern Ireland took the darting world by storm last year
after charging to the title in a thrilling final against Wales. Josh Rock and
Daryl Gurney will return competing passionately for their country and will look
to repeat the events of 2025 and win another
World Cup.
Wales will have a different look to them this year with
Gerwyn Price not featuring. Jonny Clayton will take up his usual duties with
Rhys Griffin alongside him. There is also change in the Scottish lineup with
Peter Wright being succumbed of his duties to the hands of Cameron Menzies as
he partners Gary Anderson on the big stage.
The big favourites will again be England. The world number
one and two Luke Littler and Luke Humphries endured a hugely disappointing
first year together after losing in their opening match to the hosts Germany. They
come back motivated to seal more glory.
The Netherlands will also pose a big threat. The world
number three and four Gian van Veen and Michael van Gerwen will partner for the
first time. 2013 finalists Belgian have Mike De Decker and Dimitri Van den
Bergh in their ranks. German number one Martin Schindler has a lot of
responsibilities on the oche with Ricardo Pietreczko struggling with dartitis.
Mickey Mansell, now representing Republic of Ireland, will team
up with William O’Connor. The 2022 champions, Australia, still have Damon Heta
to call upon, but a debutant in the form of Adam Leek. Other notable teams
include two-time finalists Austria with Mensur Suljović and Rusty-Jake
Rodriguez, Poland with Krzysztof Ratajski and Sebastian Białecki and Czech Republic
with Karel Sedláček and Adam Gawlas.
