Hughes after claiming maiden European Tour title at Czech Darts Open: 'It's an amazing feeling'

Jamie Hughes claimed a maiden European Tour title after only a few months as a Tour Card holder this past weekend winning at the Czech Darts Open against Stephen Bunting.
Hughes summed it up afterwards and said it's an amazing feeling especially with the work that has gone in to reach that point. He also made the World Matchplay as a result in a last-gasp shock no-one was really expecting; he added that he is ready to show the world how good he is at the Winter Gardens.
"It's an amazing feeling to win my first title, I've worked so hard for this moment," said Hughes.
"I've been playing well for a while now, better than I played this weekend strangely enough, and now I've finally got the results to show for it.
"To make the World Matchplay so soon is fantastic for me and now I can't wait to show the world what I'm about on one of the biggest stages in world darts."

- As prize money increases each year and there are now more tournaments then logically breaking the £2 million barrier is going to happen, only thing preventing it is the now deeper strength in depth of the darting field. If you took Taylor’s best two consecutive years and substituted the prize money from now onto the tournaments he won he would have passed the £2 million.Mysstree26-11-2024
