Hughes edges past Van den Bergh, West defies 104 average to produce impressive win over Clayton

The second round is complete at the Belgian Darts Championship with Jamie Hughes, Mensur Suljovic and Steve West moving through in Hasselt.

Hughes was behind against Van den Bergh but surged to three straight legs to move ahead. Despite that though he was taken to a decider which is one he was successful in claiming the victory against the home hero.

Suljovic has been in good form this year and he showed that against Ryan Searle with an impressive 6-4 win over the newly crowned ranking winner.

This saw him hit a 94 average, three 180s and two ton-plus finishes with Searle himself getting on the act hitting a 170 checkout.

West on the other hand defied a 104 average from Jonny Clayton to claim victory in an impressive display from ‘Simply’.

He won through 6-2 and it was capped off with a brilliant 75 percent on doubles as he claimed the final spot on Sunday.
