Luke Humphries and
Dave Chisnall qualified for the final at the
Hungarian Darts Trophy on Sunday night. Later this evening, they will determine who will run away with the title at the twelfth Euro Tour tournament of the season.
Humphries was 7-4 too strong for former world champion Gerwyn Price in the first semifinal. Despite twenty missed darts on the doubles, Humphries recorded an average of 103. With that, 'Cool Hand Luke' recorded his fourth consecutive 100+ average during the event in Budapest.
For Humphries, it will be his sixth Euro Tour final in 2023. Of the five previous finals, Humphries won one and had to settle for second place four times.
Two of those lost finals were against Chisnall, who is now his opponent again. 'Chizzy', who eliminated Michael van Gerwen in the last eight, won 7-5 against Scott Williams. The latter had three chances in the twelfth leg to force a deciding leg, but did not capitalize on his opportunities. Chisnall then exploited his fourth matchdart for a spot in the final.
