Luke Humphries on Sunday won the International Darts Cup in Finland for the second consecutive year. At the demonstration tournament in Tampere, Humphries won over
Michael van Gerwen in the final.
The International Darts Cup is considered a huge darts event in Finland, with as many as 7,500 Finnish darts fans in attendance. They got their money's worth, as in addition to Humphries and Van Gerwen, Phil Taylor, Luke Littler, Fallon Sherrock and Vincent van der Voort also attended.
In the end, it was Humphries and Van Gerwen who advanced to the final match, after Van Gerwen dealt with Wright in the semifinals and Humphries took the win against Littler. In the final, Humphries was too strong for the Dutchman, coming out on top 8-6.
Many world class players play demonstrations during this period. Not only for a nice extra pocket money, but also to keep up match rhythm in the run-up to the PDC World Darts Championship. At these demonstrations, they often play friendly matches against other top darters, where there is also room for a meet & greet with the fans.
