Humphries edges past Searle to seal Quarter-Final spot at European Championship

After a barren spell in major tournaments, Luke Humphries has booked his spot in the Quarter-Finals of the European Championship in Dortmund after getting one over his friend, Ryan Searle 10-6.
Both players had an off-day on the doubling front with Humphries superior scoring telling the story of his victory as he hit a 93 average and three 180's despite only hitting just over 30% on his doubles.
He missed three break chances in the fifth leg but in the seventh leg, he succeeded going into the interval with a 6-4 lead. A second followed with a 12-darter before double eight made it 9-5.
Searle got a consolation leg but Humphries then finished the job with a 48 checkout.
