The Quarter-Finals of the
European Championship will see
Dirk van Duijvenbode face Danny Noppert tomorrow in another Double Dutch duel after the former saw off James Wade this afternoon in Dortmund.
Van Duijvenbode produced a 10-7 win with a 95 average and seven 180's as he progressed through with a late surge proving vital for 'The Titan'.
From 2-0 down, he reeled off three consecutive legs to lead 3-2 and at the interval from there continued to build his lead at 6-4 and this was a theme of the contest as he kept Wade very much at arms length.
Wade dug out a 71 checkout to stay 7-6 behind but Van Duijvenbode emphatically hit a 138 checkout to make it 8-6 before going one away at 9-6 up. Missed darts to stay in it saw Van Duijvenbode pounce as he hit double 14 to seal it 10-7.
