Humphries thrashes Bunting in whitewash win, set to face Rodriguez in European Darts Matchplay final

A fourth European Tour title of the season could be heading the way of Luke Humphries who continues to produce utter brilliance in what has been an incredible 2022 season so far.

The next title in his sights is the European Darts Matchplay and despite not as emphatic, he has done just as he did in Munich in sealing a whitewash win to reach the final in Trier.

That time it was Michael van Gerwen who fell to the Newbury thrower but this time, it was Stephen Bunting with 'Cool Hand Luke' producing a 96 average and despite no maximums, he pinned seven 140's, a highest checkout of 110 and 53.8% on the doubles with 'The Bullet' failing to find the mark with 0/5 en route to defeat.

It will either be another title for Humphries or a very first in senior darts for Rowby-John Rodriguez who has continued to knock on the door and could get his reward this weekend.

He saw off Madars Razma in a marathon 7-6 win as he came from 5-2 down to defeat the Latvian starting with a 180 to begin the deciding leg before capitalising on a poor decision from Razma not staying on treble 20 on the 142 to pin double 17 and seal the win.
