Huybrechts and Clayton qualify for second round at World Grand Prix after set-deciders

Kim Huybrechts produced a comeback to see off Brendan Dolan in the first round of the World Grand Prix. The Belgian faces Gerwyn Price or Jermaine Wattimena in the second round.

Dolan claimed the first set with a pair of ton plus checkouts (105 and 110). He was one leg away from victory in the second set, but Huybrechts forced a decider after a 65 checkout.

The two-time major-finalist took immediately the lead in the third set and finished off with back-to-back 14-dart legs to book his place in round two.

Jonny Clayton won his first ever match at the World Grand Prix as The Ferret overcame Ian White after three sets. Both shared the first two sets, before the Welshman hit a 90 finish and a superb 106 checkout to win the deciding set. Clayton will meet either Peter Wright or Ryan Joyce in the last 16.
