Dave Chisnall produced the best match of the first round at the
World Grand Prix to beat Glen Durrant in straight sets in Coventry.
Chizzy averaged 102.85 as he just missed out on Alan Warriner's highest average record at the World Grand Prix. If Chisnall had thrown out 64 in the last leg, he would have beaten the record. But he missed his chance on double 20, before hitting double 5 with his fourth match-dart.
The Morecambe ace hit a stunning 70% on his opening doubles, while he threw three 180's and 6/16 on his finishing doubles. Durrant missed eight of his 15 starting doubles, while he only produced one 140-score.
Joe Cullen knocked out former tournament winner Daryl Gurney as The Rockstar claimed victory after a leg-decider in the third set. Cullen will take on Jonny Clayton in the second round.
