The final day of the first stage at the European Q-School started in Kalkar on Wednesday morning. For Wesley Plaisier this will be a crucial day.
The Dutchman was tipped beforehand as one of the favourites for a Tour Card, but needs a good day today to even reach the final stage of the Q-School. Plaisier at least started the day with an easy 5-0 win over Steven Marckowiak.
Jeffrey de Graaf failed to qualify for the final stage. De Graaf lost 5-3 to Ronny Huybrechts in the preliminary round, meaning he will definitely not finish in the top-89 of the rankings.
During the first stage of the Q-School, no PDC Tour Cards are handed out yet. Players are trying to qualify for the final stage, which is scheduled from January 12-15. Players who lost their Tour Card after last season and the best eight players from the Challenge Tour and Development Tour in 2022 are directly admitted to the final stage.
