Huybrechts sets up second round clash with Cross after nervy deciding set win over Nentjes

Nentjes went 2-1 up; but as the Dutch youngster started to go off the boil, Huybrechts built momentum and produced the goods to move through to a tie with Rob Cross.

To begin the tie, Huybrechts missed a dart at double 16 to start it off; Nentjes as a result gained an immediate break of throw with a 64 finish in the first leg.

Nentjes continued his fine start to proceedings with a 109 checkout. Huybrechts though finally got on the board;with a 41 checkout to go 1-2 behind.

An exceptional 153 checkout from Huybrechts saw the Belgian let out a roar of emotion; as he broke to make it 2-2. His comeback was completed as he snatched the first set from the young Dutchman.

Nentjes came back though and took out 111 to double his lead in the opening stanza of the second set as the multiple Development Tour winner looked good. He missed four set darts though which allowed Huybrechts to get a foothold back in.

He forced a decider and had a chance to go 2-0 up in sets but rightfully Nentjes punished and made it 1-1. Nentjes continued his class as he went 1-0 up as he looked to build on that in the next set.

He went 2-1 up and took out 100 to lead but the doubt started to creep in again as Huybrechts punished to force a third set decider. The Dutchman though found a way as he went 2-1 up in sets and had the throw to start the next one meaning he looked in potential pole position for the win.

Despite that Huybrechts made it 1-1 with a 72 checkout to level it at one apiece and continued that with a blockbuster 164 checkout as he went 2-1 ahead to potentially force a decider.

He did so making it 2-2 and he started off the decider by pinning a 112 checkout as he looked comfortable. He looked even more so going one away with a 62 checkout at 2-1 up, Nentjes strayed into the five in going for a 60 checkout and missed another chance to force a decider.

Huybrechts finally finished it off on double two as he finally got over the line against the impressive Dutchman.
