Huybrechts signs with new darts manufacturer and looks to the future: "My goal is to win a major and I dream of the number one position"

Kim Huybrechts is looking ahead to the future and wants to return to the top after the Belgian left Unicorn and signed with Bull's Darts NL.

Bull's Darts NL includes the likes of Dirk van Duijvenbode, Max Hopp and Martin Schindler and after previously admitting in an interview with DartsNews.com that his ambitions are to return to the top 20, he said that those have to be altered due to the Coronavirus.

“That may mean that I have to shift my ambitions for a year. But that does not matter. Hopefully we can start again as soon as possible, but only if everything is really safe. If you look at how many people have died, this is truly earth-shattering news," Huybrechts told De Telegraaf in a recent interview.

The Hurricane has had a particularly difficult time with the death of his mother and father. “It was very difficult to process. I was very deep for two years," he said. “My wife and in-laws pulled me through this period. That period was dark. It is something you can never forget. You have to tell yourself that it is the course of life. Unfortunately, it is part of life that you have to let go of loved ones. ”

At the beginning of this year, Huybrechts once again seemed to be on the right track reaching a semi-final in a Players Championship events and he still has future ambitions: “My goal is to win a major and I dream of the number one position like every darts player. I'm not saying I'm going to make it. But I do have that ambition and big dreams, just like someone like Michael van Gerwen has. The day I no longer believe in the highest achievable goals, I have to stop. ”
