Stephen Bunting started his new season extremely successfully last weekend by taking the overall victory at the 2025 Bahrain Darts Masters. For "The Bullet," it was his second televised title within the PDC.
After wins over Nitin Kumar, Chris Dobey and Luke Humphries, Bunting was too strong for Gerwyn Price in the final. His title in the Gulf state also secured the St. Helens-based dart player number-one status at the Dutch Darts Masters in Den Bosch this weekend.
The leader of the seedings list, he was paired with world youth champion Gian van Veen in the first round. Bunting is looking forward to the tournament in the Netherlands. “Getting the win in Bahrain last week; the confidence I’ve gained from that is massive,” he said in conversation with the PDC.
“Wherever we play – whether it be Bahrain, Germany, the Netherlands or back home in the UK, the fanbase that I’m building at the moment is crazy. I am playing the best I have ever played. I’m more consistent than ever before and now I’m believing I can win titles,” said the current world number five.
The duel between Bunting and Van Veen is the third match of the session on Friday night. The winner of that duel will play Chris Dobey or Raymond van Barneveld in the quarterfinals.
