"I did it the hard way but I knew that was going to be the case" - Van Veen into World Youth Championship final

Last Sunday, the first stage of the PDC World Youth Championship was played. In it, Gian van Veen and Luke Littler qualified for the final.

That final of this World Youth Championship will be played later this year, on November 26 to be exact, during the final day of the Players Championship Finals. "I'm over the moon. It was such a great day," said Van Veen, who finished first in the Development Tour final standings this year.

"I did it the hard way but I knew that was going to be the case. I was really happy with my game today, and I played well all weekend, so I'm very happy," continues Van Veen, who sent reigning champion Josh Rock packing on his route to making the final.

Van Veen is therefore eagerly looking forward to the final. "This gives me so much confidence. I think it's going to be a fantastic game against Luke and I'm really looking forward to Minehead."
