Yesterday the draw was made for the upcoming PDC World Darts Championship. That produced some interesting ties, including the possible duel in the second round between Luke Littler and Fallon Sherrock. A match that Littler, along with no doubt many others, will be watching intently.
Littler, who reached the final on his debut last year, is exempt in the first round as the fourth seed this year. In the second round, the 17-year-old Englishman will take on the winner of the duel between Ryan Meikle and Fallon Sherrock. "If I do come across her, I don't know what the crowd would be like," Littler told Sky Sports. "Against Fallon, it might be a bit different."
Sherrock surprised friend and foe at the World Championship five years ago when she defeated Ted Evetts and Mensur Suljovic in succession, only to lose to Chris Dobey in the end. A performance that also impressed Littler at the time. "I don't think anyone really missed it. It was incredible to watch.”
Interesting
"Good luck to them both. It should be a really interesting game, because Ryan's playing really good, and so is Fallon," Littler said.
"It won't be easy [against either of them]. No game will be easy this year, but it'll be a tough test for both of them facing each other in the first round.
"Either way, I'm very confident, whoever wins. I just can't wait to get on stage.
"Ever since the Worlds [last year] it has been crazy; this is where it all started for me. The buzz is there, I can feel it."
