Last weekend the Players Championship Finals was played in Minehead. The final victory there went to Luke Humphries, who beat Luke Littler 11-7 in the final. But there was also a lot going on in the audience.
Referee on duty in the final was Charlie Corstorphine. So not
Russ Bray, the 67-year-old Englishman who retired early this year. So the audience had to do without the famous 180 score with Bray's husky voice. It prompted
Ladbrokes, the sponsor of the Players Championship Finals, to search the audience to see who could imitate Bray best. And that produced quite a few creditable attempts.
You can see the result in the video below, judge for yourself! By the way, Bray himself is not completely retired yet, he now works as an ambassador for the PDC and is also still active as a referee at tournaments of the World Series of Darts.
