Callan Rydz broke some poor form on the
European Tour by seeing off Matt Campbell in a 6-3 win with a 95 average and 66% on the outer ring at the
German Darts Grand Prix.
Not only was he happy to break his poor form but also get the support off the crowd admitting he is usually quite miserable.
"I've not won on the big stage in a long-time, whether that's televised or European Tour but to win in front of this amazing crowd is absolutely amazing and to hear them singing my name gives me goosebumps," said Rydz post match.
"I don't smile, I'm quite miserable. I've been playing alright on the floor but on the stage, I've not been the best but hopefully this kick starts a long run.
He puts down some of this poor form to having to travel more than most and is looking forward to Dirk van Duijvenbode next who he holds a positive Head to Head against.
"I live in Newcastle and they don't direct flights to some places so I'm driving three hours to Manchester to fly here. It is what it is."
"I like playing Dirk as he's a quick player, we will just get on with the game. There's no slowing down, speeding up. We will always have good games."
