Danny Noppert put in a strong showing at the 2025 PDC Winmau World Masters last weekend Milton Keynes. In this first major of the new season he reached the semifinals, in which he lost 5-2 to Luke Humphries. Despite this performance, Noppert was not entirely satisfied afterwards.

Noppert was around 96-97 average throughout the tournament, however, in the semifinals he dropped to an average of just 88.33. "I had no power left at all, it was just very far away. Scandalous," Noppert said to Sportnieuws.nl.

"If you look at the first two sets, I was on top, battling, and then all at once you completely collapse," he continued, admitting that it happened during the break. "It was a long day, too long a day, that breaks me up every time too."

"Something is missing from my sharpness, something he (Humphries, ed.) does have," Noppert continued. "Sure, he's No. 1 in the world, you just have to accept that. Then you have to be satisfied with a semifinal, but actually I know I can do better," he continued.

Despite this defeat, Noppert does realize that he played a strong tournament. "I'm certainly not balking, because beforehand I would have immediately signed for a semifinal. But now it hurts for a while. I know what's to blame: at the end I just wasn't sharp. After the first break nothing came, really amateur level at that point. But anyway, still made it to the semifinals, I'm satisfied with that."
