Danny Noppert remains in the fight at the 2025 PDC Winmau World Masters. 'The Freeze' comfortably defeated William O'Connor 4-0 in the second round and will now meet Stephen Bunting in the quarterfinals.
Speaking post-match, Noppert gave a previously rare insight into his private life and the the Dutchman revealed to the world that he has ADHD. Noppert's calm and controlled demeanor, both on and off the oche, has contributed to his reputation as one of the sport's more subdued figures. His methodical style may not be the most eye-catching, but he remains a very effective competitor and as he insists, away from the oche he's not very boring at all.
"Maybe I’m not the fastest player in the world or the biggest high scorer, but I do my checkouts, and I do everything steady. So yeah, what you say, maybe under the radar, but in the future, not," Noppert told SportsBoom. "I’m just a ‘Steady Eddie Noppert’. Sometimes it’s a shame about my game, and sometimes I’m really happy. I want to be at the level at the top, and when I’m at 100% I guarantee I can do it.”
Noppert is not the big talker, but gave a rare insight into his private life. "I have ADHD, so when I’m at home, I’m more hyper than when I’m at the darts," he explained. "I’m not as boring like everyone thinks.”
"Darts is the one thing I don’t struggle with. I have a busy life at home with the children and everything. But when I play darts, I’m a different person," the Dutchman adds. "I always manage to stay focused on what I want to do. I think the ADHD helps my regime and helps me stronger at where I want to be.”
Noppert will be back in action this afternoon at the Winmau World Masters. He will then take on defending champion Stephen Bunting in the quarter-finals.
