Damon Heta managed to just narrowly escape with a victory on Tuesday night. 'The Heat' survived a match dart from
Beau Greaves in his final group match at the
Grand Slam of Darts.
Heta and Greaves were in a straight shootout for who, along with Nathan Aspinall would progress from Group H in Wolverhampton. Greaves had one chance to win in the eighth leg, but missed her matchdart. Then it was Heta who came away with the win.

After the match, Heta had nothing but praise for the 19-year-old Englishwoman, who fell one arrow short of becoming group winner. “Fair play to Beau! I hope she doesn’t get a Tour Card because we’re going to be in trouble,” the Australian joked.
Heta then had more compliments in store for her. ''Beau was insane tonight. We all know what she can do and I’m shaking like crazy after that, but to get over that line is massive for me.”
A key moment in the match was the 164 finish in the fifth leg, preventing Heta from falling behind 4-1. After that, 'The Heat' also threw out 130 and 105. "Those big finishes were extremely crucial," Heta admits. "Every other ton-plus checkout had to go. If I didn’t hit it, I was gone.''
