After becoming the King of the Jungle and one of the UK's biggest streamers, Angry Ginge has hinted at a surprising appearance at 2027
Q-School.
The Mancunian has been regularly spotted at the darts, regularly supporting good friend Luke Littler at events such as the PDC World Darts Championship, where he has watched the teenage talent win two world titles on the spin.
After watching this, Ginge, whose real name is Morgan Burtwhistle, has unveiled a motivation to attend
Q-School next year. He has shown his prior skills on the oche on the Ally Pally stage, whilst also getting a
couple of legs off Littler in a match on stream before the world number one reeled in the big fish to avoid a huge upset.
“I might go to
Q-School next year, though. Not to win, because I know I won’t win," he admitted, being realistic about the situation. “Just to see what it’s like. The more pressure you’re under, the more you get used to it. In darts, your hands are shaking and everything. Darts is mainly about who’s got the biggest bottle.”
It would be some sight for the streamer to be on the main stage competing with the best players in the world. However,
Q-School is a very brutal event, with many top players leaving empty handed in their quest for a coveted two-year Tour Card.
So far notable names such as Rhys Griffin, Arno Merk and Cristo Reyes have found their way onto the tour in both the UK and European
Q-School respectively, with two more days of action to go.
With Ginge open to the idea of swapping the jungle for the oche, it would be an interesting scenario of Littler would do the same thing but the other way around. However, the two-time world champion has quickly shut this down without hesitation.
“No, I actually wouldn’t. No," he resoundingly stated. "I said I would for the right money, but I’ve been watching it now, and no. I just couldn’t. No way. Being like, what is it, 23 hours away on the flight, away from home, eating that stuff. Nah. Not good. Not good. I don’t think I could actually do it, especially the first two trials, especially what Aitch had to do. I said to [girlfriend] Faith, I’m not doing it ever. No way. There’s no way.”
