Stowe Buntz is set to participate in the World Darts Championship at the Alexandra Palace for the second year in a row. The 45-year-old American managed to qualify last weekend by finishing third in the final standings of the CDC (Championship Darts Circuit) Tour. This Tour features players from Canada and the USA.
Buntz had some work to do at the very last tournament of the CDC to secure qualification for the World Darts Championship. He did though reach a final and although he lost to Adam Sevada, it proved enough to seal his return to London this December.
"I was too busy focused on other things and I let the final slip away," Buntz concedes in his post-match interview. "I was focused on trying to secure spot for the World Championship so that was kind of like a two-edged sword you know. What do you concentrate on? The match or the fact that you just qualified for the World Championships."

After starring at the Grand Slam of Darts in 2023, big things were expected of the colourful American at the Ally Pally. Eventually though, Buntz lost 3-0 to Dutchman Kevin Doets in the first round of the World Championship last year. He did not reach his best level in that match and as such, he is looking forward to participating again and putting things right.
"It means a lot to be going back. I get to go see a lot of friends and acquaintances I made last year being over there, and I hope to represent the CDC better than I did last year," he previews. "If I concentrate on myself and my game, I think I can make a deep run. I really do!"
