Leonard Gates, Jim Long and Stowe Buntz all secured qualification for the 2025 World Darts Championship last weekend. The trio were in the top three on the CDC Tour Order of Merit after the final three tournaments of the season were played last weekend.

The CDC circuit consists of 14 tournaments and is open to players from North America. The best American and Canadian, as well as the next highest ranked player, will receive an invitation to participate in the tournament at Alexandra Palace.
Prior to the final tournament weekend in Brownsburg, the top three consisted of Leonard Gates, David Cameron and Stowe Buntz. Cameron, however, had a dramatic final weekend and dropped away in the standings. He was passed by Jim Long, who managed to reach the final in each of the weekend's first two tournaments. However, the Canadian did not win this one. Adam Sevada and Jake Womack won these tournaments.
At the final tournament, Sevada, Buntz and also Alex Spellman competed for the final World Championship ticket. Buntz needed just one final spot to secure a spot in the top three. Buntz, who has been called the "American Peter Wright" because of his colourful appearance, did just that by defeating Spellman in the semifinals. That Buntz eventually lost to Sevada in the final did not matter for the final ranking.
