"I was like woah and that was a mental thing for me": Van den Bergh in awe at iconic stage after MSG debut

For Dimtri Van den Bergh, his first round victory over JT Davis at the US Darts Masters was a pinch-yourself moment as the Belgian took to the Madison Square Gardens stage.

"That was incredible. As soon as I was on that stage," Van den Bergh tells Online Darts in a post-match interview. "I was playing a young talent that already has been doing really good."

Despite a brave effort from Davis the Premier League quality of Van den Bergh shone through as he secured a hard fought victory. "I managed to get that win. It was so amazing to be on that stage because it's one thing that I've always been dreaming of," he explains.

"To get a win in the Madison Square Garden where so many incredible people have been here. Elton John, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Beyonce they all have been here," continues Van den Bergh. "I'm really happy. I'm stoked, really chuffed."
