Whilst well below his best, averaging just 82.5, Rob Cross managed to scrap his way to a 6-2 win over Jason Brandon in the first round of the US Darts Masters. Cross knows improvement is needed going forward though.
"It's amazing to go out there and I interacted with the crowd maybe a little bit too much early. I never normally do that but what a fantastic crowd," Cross recaps in a post-match interview with Online Darts from the famed sporting arena, Madison Square Gardens in New York.
"I never played my best, nowhere near it but tomorrow's got to be all business," continues 'Voltage'. "You try to flick the switch and it wasn't there because you're too relaxed. Like I said it's got to be all business if it's not I go home."
A former World Darts Champion and World Matchplay winner, Cross admits playing at iconic Madison Square Gardens is something special. "It's just amazing, everything about the arena. You walk around and think 'how many greats have walked these footsteps'. It's just a privilege really."
