“I was so full of adrenaline that when I went for treble 20, I actually threw over the top” – German pro darter reveals blunder in nerve-racking stage debut

Leon Weber is regarded as one of Germany’s most successful young talents right now. The 23-year-old Tour Card holder spoke at the Pub Edition of The Last Flight about his first experiences on a major PDC stage, his nine-darter at the Players Championship, and his growing presence on social media. His still-missing nickname was also a major talking point.

The Last Flight is Germany’s first entertainment darts league, blending competition with entertainment, content creators, and special formats. During the Pub Edition in Krefeld, Weber joined Gabriel Clemens and Max Hopp for a panel led by Fabian Dippold.

Weber has held a PDC Tour Card since 2025 and is currently 87th on the world rankings. He has also made his mark on the Development Tour in recent months. After a title in 2025, he has already won two events in 2026.

With four tournaments remaining, Weber sits fourth on the Development Tour Order of Merit. He is on track for a World Championship debut and a new Tour Card for the next two seasons.

One moment Weber still sees vividly is his first appearance on a major PDC stage. That came in 2025 at the European Darts Grand Prix in Sindelfingen.

His debut brought an immediate test against Ryan Joyce. Weber won 6-3, but the tension beforehand was intense. “I remember exactly what it was like just before. Before you start your walk-on, my heart rate was something you can’t really describe,” Weber recalled. “I simply walked past my own people. Normally, you greet them and give them a high five.”

The adrenaline was still surging once he reached the stage. Weber noticed it with his first throws. “Then I was standing up there and I remember that with my first darts, I was so full of adrenaline that when I went for treble 20, I actually threw over the top and hit tops.”

He settled quickly, though. Weber grew into the match and struck at key moments. “In the end, I still won that match against Ryan Joyce and hit two high finishes at important moments. So it was a good debut.”

After beating Joyce, Weber faced Peter Wright in round two. The German lost 6-4, with Wright posting an average of over 105.

Another highlight of Weber’s young career came at a Players Championship event in Leicester, where he hit a nine-darter.

The perfect leg was captured on video, which made the moment even more special for Weber. “No one can ever take that experience away from me. It’s an incredible feeling that it was also captured on video,” he said. “To this day, I’ve watched it back an incredible number of times. I think I’m almost into five figures by now.”

Beyond the ProTour, Weber is working to raise his profile away from the oche. Collaborations with other players and content creators especially appeal to him.

“I really enjoy that, especially when it involves those wild challenges with other players or creators,” he said. “I’ve also recently started my own TikTok channel.”

Remarkably, Weber still had no official nickname as of 09.2026. It became a major topic during The Last Flight.

Max Hopp urged the fans in attendance and viewers in the chat to submit suggestions. Several options came up, including “Leon der Löwe,” “The Web,” “Spider-Man,” and “Leonidas.” Weber also floated an idea of his own. He suggested “Leon – der Profi,” a nod to the 1995 cult film of the same name.
