Jonny Clayton prevailed in a sudden death leg against Mickey Mansell in what was a thrilling end to a long session at the PDC World Darts Championship.

Clayton spoke afterwards and said he wouldn't wish it on his 'worst enemy' that game and that he struggled with the pace of Mansell as he wanted to continue throwing but he couldn't.

"It was very emotional I've got to be honest. That meant a lot. I knew I had a very tough game so to go to the last leg decider, I didn't expect that at all so I think I had chances before. Mickey definitely had chances before so there's a lot of weight off my shoulders after that," said Clayton post match.

"It wasn't the best, I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Genuinely I've got a smile on my face because I came out the victor so hopefully I can do the same the next time but just a bit easier."

"The way my darts have been this year. Slow in the beginning, started to warm up a little bit. I know there's another gear or two in the bank. I've got to be honest that meant a lot to me. It's a test to try and make me believe again. It was a great game and last leg."

"I'm a rhythm player so I'd be lying to say that I enjoyed that. I enjoy playing against rhythm players but it makes it easier to play in if that makes sense. Mickey just does his thing and his thing is slow. I was thinking Mick please get out of the way so I can throw a bit quicker."

"Averages mean nothing, it's good to see a 120 average. But the W means so much. If I could win with a 60 average, I'll take that everyday. If you hit a 100 average you're playing phenomenal darts but in matches like that it's war and I'm glad just to get over it."
