For Kim Huybrechts, the World Matchplay ended in disappointment. 'The Hurricane' missed several matchdarts in the opening round against Dirk van Duijvenbode and eventually lost 12-10.
Huybrechts was extremely disappointed afterwards. "I had the match in my hands, but gave it away like so many times," he told VTM 2. "This match, in my mind, I should have always won. But this is just what Kim Huybrechts does too often. When it matters, I miss too many decisive darts."

"That's the curse of Kim Huybrechts," the 37-year-old Belgian continued. "If I didn't think so much and just played darts, I am a top-ten player. However, I know what the mistake is and I've been working on it for a long time, but it keeps on coming. This is costing me matches and places on the Order of Merit."
