Gary Anderson sealed a 30th Players Championship title on Monday seeing off Adam Lipscombe in the final of Event Seven.

Anderson as ever was cynical of his own form at times but was relieved overall to get through another title as he sits this week as one of the bigger names. All of the elite Premier League stars have skipped and Anderson picked up the pieces superbly.

He saw off Connor Scutt to start the day and ended it defeating Lipscombe who he said he sees as a player who can put a 'hole in the rankings'.

"The last few months have been hard for me. Started off kind of iffy today and kind of picked up throughout the day. Over the moon, I've been struggling since December so it's nice to get one," said Anderson.

"First game against Connor (Scutt). I rate Connor highly. I'm a big fan of Connor. Wasn't quite on it but first game's are always a nightmare. He's going to be one to watch. Same with that boy there (Lipscombe), I watched him at the UK Open. He's going to be something else."

"He says it's a long day, he needs to get used to that as this is what it is like. I expect him to do well, he's going to put a hole in the rankings I tell you."

He was also open about the seed cull earlier in the day saying he didn't care too much and if he loses, he loses. "I don't care if I get beat I go home, pop off to the Chinese for a nice meal and get to my bed. Nowadays there's so many good players. It's not like 10 years when you could pick Last 16 or Quarter-Finals."
