Chris Dobey reached the final on the first match day of the Premier League 2025, where he lost 6-1 to Luke Humphries. Each of the next four playing days he went down immediately in the quarter-finals. Hollywood hopes to reverse that negative trend on the sixth day, which takes place tomorrow in Nottingham. And later in the week, Dobey has another important appointment.

Dobey is currently penultimate in the Premier League Darts. However, he is only five points behind the current number four, Michael van Gerwen. The top four after 16 days of play get to play the playoffs at London's O2 Arena. So anything is still possible for Dobey, although he needs to start winning.

The 34-year-old is therefore keen on a strong performance tomorrow in Nottingham. He will face Rob Cross in the quarterfinals. For the weekly winner there is again a check waiting for him worth 10,000 pounds. Money that Dobey hopes to spend later in the week when his favorite football club Newcastle United takes on Liverpool in the final of the Carabao Cup at the legendary Wembley Stadium.

Top week

“It could be one of the best weeks ever! I’ll happily spend the full £10,000 (winnings) on it," said Dobey.

“If I can win that on that Thursday night, I’ll be one happy person, especially going into the weekend.

“I’m definitely going to the game. I’m in with the fans this time. I did that the last time they played in a Cup final. I wanted to be with the atmosphere. There’s a group of us that go to home and away games and we’re all going together. We’ll be at Wembley’s BOXPARK before the match as well, spend a few hours there, soak in the atmosphere.

“We’ll probably be at Covent Garden or Leicester Square beforehand on the Saturday as well. Take in every little bit of atmosphere and get ready for the big one on the Sunday.”
