"I'm buzzing, I'm ecstatic. I'm really happy I'm in the semi-finals of a major," said De Decker post match.
"Before the tournament started a lot of people were saying he's a good floor player but he's not bringing it on stage. So I'm really happy that my game in some parts is coming out on stage."
"I'm doing the right things at the right moments. Like I say I've been doing that in floor tournaments regularly, I've beaten them players. Top 10 players before so I know what I can do."
He was asked about the title but had a wry smile on his face trying not to be drawn on it. "I'm not thinking about it, no chance. Tomorrow is another game and we will see from there but I'm not dreaming about anything."
But despite that, his hotel initially albeit due to a mix-up wasn't booked until this point in the tournament.
"The hotel was booked until Wednesday with an option to extend the stay. But somehow the hotel mixed it up and didn't extend our reservation. But every tournament I go into I want to win so the mix-up with the hotel has nothing to do with me not believing I can reach the finals."
He next faces Van den Bergh and said that his phone has been off the hook non stop since he sealed the win.
"My phone has been buzzing for the last day and a half. Everyone is saying well done to me and to Dimitri."
