Michael van Gerwen is through to the next round at the Winmau World Masters and will return on Saturday to face Dimitri van den Bergh in Milton Keynes. He saw off Bradley Brooks on Friday night.

Speaking to the media afterwards, he was pleased to return to the iconic Winmau World Masters format and in particular with his new shirt which sees him ditch green for the weekend due to the anniversary of his sponsorship with the brand.
"In some places of course Overall I can't really complain, I think when I had to play well I did play well. When I was allowed to play cr*p, I did play cr*p. There's still a lot more in the tank, I feel good I feel comfortable but I'm going to have a tough one tomorrow so I need to make sure I'm on it," said Van Gerwen.
"It's nice, I really like it. I'm really glad that the Winmau World Masters is back here and of course I'm glad I'm with Winmau now. It's an amazing tournament, format and it's an iconic name. I think that's good for darts."
But will he change permanently to the black and gold, he saw a rebrand away from the green is coming.
"Not now, but in the next few months for sure. It's how branding works these days, they (Winmau) have a lot of people in the office who think about stuff. I'm not really a fashionable guy, I love to play darts do it and the rest I don't care about."

While he also discussed the World final as well as motivation and how he believes he can be the dangerous MVG again.
"The final at the beginning I played a little bit poorly but overall I get a lot of joy out of it and as long as Michael van Gerwen is enjoying the game it's a good sign. I missed too many doubles, I could've made it so much more difficult. I forgot to do that. I need to make sure I keep going and keep fighting. The fire still burns in my body and as long as that's there, I can do anything."
"I'm waiting for the moment it all falls together. I think then I can be dangerous again."
