We will begin the second round at the Winmau World Masters in Milton Keynes on Saturday afternoon. The afternoon session will feature the first four matches among the last sixteen.

The afternoon gets underway with a tie between Danny Noppert and William O'Connor. Both players managed a handsome result in the first round. Noppert triumphed against Michael Smith, while O'Connor was responsible for eliminating Rob Cross. It will be the tenth time Noppert and O'Connor have faced each other in an official match. Of the previous duels, six were won by the Dutchman and three by O'Connor. The Irishman did manage to win the last showdown 6-0 in September 2024.

Next we get a meeting between Damon Heta and Gerwyn Price. Heta cleared Ross Smith in the opening round in four sets. Price did not even concede a set at all and recorded a resounding 3-0 victory over Florian Hempel. Price can at least boast a fine record against his upcoming Australian opponent. Fourteen of the previous nineteen encounters were won by Price. 'The Iceman' also managed to win five of the last six encounters.

One of the crackers of the second round is the clash between Stephen Bunting and Peter Wright. Both players had to make a big effort to reach the second round. Bunting trailed 0-2 in sets in his opening match against William Borland, but still prevailed 3-2 in sets. Wright also needed the full five sets and handled Kevin Doets 3-2 in sets. Recently these two players also met in the quarterfinals of the World Championship. Then the win went 5-2 to Bunting, who is still facing an 18-13 deficit in the head-to-head.

In the final match of the afternoon, fans at the Arena MK in Milton Keynes may once again get ready for a fun-filled affair. World number one Luke Humphries will then face former junior world champion Josh Rock. The Northern Irishman beat Jermaine Wattimena 3-1 in sets in the first round. Humphries needed only four sets to beat Joe Cullen 3-1. It will be the sixth time Humphries and Rock have met in an official match. In the head to head, it is 3-2 for Humphries.
