Peter Wright will face Luke Humphries in the Last 16 of the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship after seeing off Jermaine Wattimena who has been in exceptional form as of late.
But despite many thinking it would be an easy win when it was confirmed that Wright was suffering with a chest infection, it actually buoyed Snakebite on.
He spoke afterwards only to Sky Sports with the press conference with the media not happening due to his illness. He was a man of few words as he struggled to breathe without coughing no mind putting a coherent sentence together.

But he said that it wasn't affecting him and it certainly wasn't as he saw off 'Machine Gun' who has been in some form as of late. Wright will hope to kick what is ailing him for the next round as he will have Humphries lying in wait. 'Snakebite' may have thought perhaps that it was sympathy from Wattimena but Humphries won't take the same tact.
"Obviously Jermaine felt sorry for me," said Wright to Sky Sports. "It weren't affecting my darts. Not bad for an old guy am I. It was about experience."
"The support these guys here (points over) and my support over there. Hopefully I feel a little bit better (on Humphries clash)."
