Luke Humphries will face Peter Wright in the Last 16 of the PDC World Darts Championship after breezing past Nick Kenny 4-0 in sets to end Friday night.
In a night filled with drama, it was Humphries in reality that had the easiest night of all in comparison to Price and Wright before him who played out an epic with Joe Cullen and edged past Jermaine Wattimena.
'Cool Hand Luke' hit a 98 average and four 180's in a pretty solid display from the World No.1. While Kenny despite defeat went from likely having to go back to Q-School to keeping his Tour Card and proving a lot of doubters wrong against Raymond van Barneveld so leaves with his head held high.
Wright thought he would be facing Barney in the Last 16 but instead it will be Humphries showing perhaps it was more wishful thinking than an actual prediction from 'Snakebite'.

To start off the tie, it nearly went in the other direction as Kenny missed one set dart at double 18 in the decider and Humphries cleaned up 60 to take the lead.
But that routine shot was very much in keeping with the match as he moved two sets up without much bother and eased away from there. He increased his average to 96.5 and sealed the second 3-1.
He continued to go up a gear as he was averaging 98.5 to go 3-0 up. He levelled up that set 1-1 with a 76 checkout then broke with a 52 checkout. He concluded it with a 13 darter on double eight.
The last set was about making a statement as he thumped in a 145 to break and go 2-0 up. He then completed the win with a 78 checkout with Kenny way back. Job done, onto Peter Wright for Humphries.
