Tonight in Cardiff, the
Premier League Darts 2024 kicks off. A particular point of interest on opening night is the Premier League debut of teenage sensation,
Luke Littler.
Littler, in a replay of the past World Darts Championship final, will take on Luke Humphries in his opening match. Are there any nerves about competing week in and week out with the world's best players? "I've already beaten five of them," Littler answers confidently in his pre-Premier League press conference.
"I know that I can beat anyone when I'm on it. But the other seven guys will also be on it every week," continues the 17-year-old, who has backed up his impressive World Darts Championship on the World Series in recent weeks.
In Bahrain, he won the final against Michael van Gerwen; last week at the Dutch Darts Masters, he lost out in the final. "Gives me every confidence. I've beaten Gezzy (Gerwyn Price ed.) twice, beat van Gerwen in a final, beat Nathan Aspinall, it gives a big confidence boost knowing I can beat them."
