Sakhir is currently hosting the Bahrain Darts Masters, the opening tournament of the 2025 World Series of Darts. Gerwyn Price has already made an excellent start to this tournament. The Iceman defeated Lok Yin Lee 6-3 in his opening match and now faces Luke Littler. Price played against Lee with new arrows, but will still revert to his old arrows against Littler;
Price did not have the best 2024 and was left without a major title. The 39-year-old lost 5-3 to Chris Dobey in the quarterfinals at the last World Darts Championship. It therefore drew criticism that Price was still invited to Premier League Darts, unlike major winners in 2024 such as Mike De Decker and Ritchie Edhouse. But Price wants to prove his critics wrong and is therefore keen to rejoin his best form this year. The 39-year-old Welshman did just that in his first official match of the new year with new darts.
With Lok Yin Lee he faced an opponent not to be underestimated in his opening match. The player from Hong Kong was 3-1 too strong for the Dutchman Chris Landman in the opening round at the last World Darts Championship. One round later, Lee lost 3-0 to Brendan Dolan. It was therefore looking forward to seeing what he could do against Price.
Price was therefore wary despite experimenting with new material. "I tried some different flights and longer points today and stuck with it until the end, but I'll go back to normal tomorrow," Price said.
I tried something different and it didn't work, but I won - I've always stuck with the same set-up from day one, and I think if you want to try and find that extra 5-10% you have to change things up."

Price will take on Luke Littler in the quarterfinals, who was too strong for Lourence Ilagan in his opening match, 6-3.
"I'm going to go back to what I know best and I'll be confident with the darts - but I think all the pressure's on Luke; he's the World Champion and world number two.
"He's probably expected to win but I'm here to upset the party!"
The winner of the clash between Price and Littler will then take on the winner of the duel between Paolo Nebrida and Peter Wright in the semifinals.
