Jack Main takes pragmatic approach to keeping Tour Card: "I've had an experience money can't buy"

Jack Main recently impressed on the Pro Tour by throwing two nine-dart finishes. However, the 25-year-old still has a lot of work ahead of him to secure his Tour Card.

"I feel from the moment I got my Tour Card that I was playing the best darts that I've ever played really but then the tinkering with the darts, getting darts made for myself and adapting, you don't realise how much that affects you. It wasn't until the start of the summer that Cosmo sent me a set of darts that I really like and that's when the averages crept up again," said Main to Tungsten Tales.

Currently, Main is 103rd in the world rankings, with only the top 64 guaranteed a Tour Card. "With not qualifying for any of the TV tournaments or the European Tours, it is a long wait now to play in October. You never know until the last dart is thrown, I know I'm a long way off keeping my Tour Card for next year but I'll do exactly what I did before I got my Tour Card I'll get myself prepared. If I qualify for the World's or the Grand Slam great but if not it's not a massive deal, I've had an experience money can't buy and it's now to try and kick on."

This has included the help and support of a few former World Champions as well as some of the most experienced players in the game.

"Gary Anderson, Adrian Lewis, Michael Smith and Ian White, they are the four lads I've sat with since I started and made good friends with so their help and knowledge they given me is second to none.
