James Wade has never really had a massive love affair with the PDC World Darts Championship and albeit he encountered one of the toughest draws possible, he was easily beaten again at the Alexandra Palace by Jermaine Wattimena winning just two legs in a 3-0 whitewash.
Wattimena who really broke out at the European Championship reaching the final has been electric all year. He eased past Stefan Bellmont yesterday to set up this tie which was a repeat of their tie in Dortmund and it was again won by Wattimena. He said that Wade has to beat him and he did not.

The third consecutive Last 64 exit for Wade which saw Wattimena ease through with a 99.2 average and 50% on the doubles saw him start by pouncing on a part of the game that is usually Wade's go to - his doubling.
Wade missed five darts at doubles alone in the first set and Wattimena trampled all over the opportunity easing to the set 3-1. Wattimena continued to rise to the occasion and sensed a chance. He eased through the second set 3-0 rampantly to double his lead with a 96.3 average.
The nail in the Wade coffin was to come to start the third set as Wattimena broke and then produced an exceptional 126 checkout to go towards the brink of the third round. Going the usual two treble 19 and double six route, it is a very different Machine Gun this year than ever before as the Dutchman has risen up the ranks this year.
Among the Edhouse and De Decker's of the darting world, he has also produced exceptional darts. Wattimena pounced again on missed darts at doubles as Wade fluffed another chance to return into the tie and the Dutchman had delight on his face as he moves through.
As one of the first players through to the third round, he will return after Christmas. He will face either Peter Wright or Wesley Plaisier as Luke Humphries could yet await.
