Danny Jansen is through to the second round of the PDC World Darts Championship after a grueling first round tie against Paolo Nebrida.

Jansen sealed a 3-2 sets win after 'The Mullet' had missed match darts at 2-0 up to claim it in straight sets but the first-time ranking winner this year will now face Krzysztof Ratajski.

Nebrida started brightly with a hold in the form of a 68 checkout to lead. A 72 checkout saw Jansen hit back to hold.

Nebrida missed a huge amounts of darts to hold including busting double one twice and the Dutchman finally pinned it to go one away from the set. He missed 117 on double 20 but returned for double 16 after initially messing around on the former target and he went 1-0 up in sets.

Jansen missed a dart of 89 to go 2-0 up in sets and break and Nebrida sent the set to a decider. But Jansen sealed the set with a last dart double 16.

Nebrida hit double five to hold and go 2-1 up and towards potentially a first set. Jansen missed double 18 for a 121 checkout but ‘The Mullet’ hit double nine to go one away from the win.

Jansen missed 146 on double 16 and Nebrida missed 64 for the set which allowed the Dutchman back before missing three match darts. The Filipino ace as a result forced another set at 2-1.

Nebrida continued his revival going 2-0 up and was one away from 2-2 in sets. He missed 140 for the set but pinned double two to make it 2-2.

A 60 checkout saw Jansen break to begin the decider. A 174 and double 18 saw Jansen go one away. He missed 79 for the match but returned finally for double 11.
