Jeffrey de Graaf and Oskar Lukasiak will represent Sweden at the World Cup of Darts from June 27 to 30, PDC Nordic & Baltic announced Monday.
For De Graaf it is the first time he can play on behalf of Sweden at the famous Nations tournament. Lukasiak made his debut in the Swedish shirt last year and surprisingly managed to reach the quarter-finals of the World Cup of Darts together with Dennis Nilsson. They lost to the later winners Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton from Wales.
De Graaf has been darting under the Swedish flag since 2023. He was born in 1990 in the Dutch municipality of Den Helder. In 2018, however, De Graaf moved to Sweden because his girlfriend is from the Scandinavian country.
It is certainly not the first time that a Dutchman has made an appearance at the World Cup of Darts on behalf of another country. In 2016, Cor Dekker played alongside Robert Wagner on behalf of Norway at the country tournament. Jules van Dongen represented the United States at the 2023 edition and will be in the competition again this year.
