Jim Long and Stowe Buntz won titles on the CDC Tour in the U.S. state of Illinois on Saturday. On Sunday, the third and final tournament of the weekend will be played.
The sixth event of the CDC season proved a triumph for Jim Long. He reached the final with wins over Stephan Rousseau (5-2), Sean Mitchell (5-2), Jake Womack (6-4), Alex Spellman (6-4) and Dave Richardson (7-2). Then, after an exciting final, Long was too strong for Leonard Gates, 7-6.
The next tournament went to Buntz, who disposed of Dustin Holt (5-0), Davey Mayne (6-2), Doug Boehm (6-5), Jacob Taylor (7-1) and David Cameron (7-5). Darts veteran John Part also showed well at CDC Tour 7, making it to the semifinals, where he eventually lost 7-4 to Cameron.
The CDC circuit in 2024 consists of 14 tournaments, seven of which have now been played. The best Canadian and best American on the CDC Order of Merit will receive an invitation to the World Darts Championship. Currently, David Cameron leads the list with 68 points, while Jacob Taylor is the second Canadian with 44 points. Stowe Buntz is currently the highest-ranked American with 58 points. He is currently seven points ahead of compatriot Leonard Gates.
