Jim Williams dumps out eighth seed James Wade at PDC World Darts Championship in clinical doubling display

One of the first big names have fallen in this year's PDC World Darts Championship with Welsh wizard Jim Williams dumping out James Wade in a 3-2 sets win.

Williams produced a 90 average with four 180's and 50% on the doubles with the former semi-finalist continuing his poor form at the showpiece tournament and will now face Gabriel Clemens in Gerwyn Price's section.

The victor will face Alan Soutar or Danny Noppert / David Cameron who will play tomorrow in a big chance for the winner of that quarter.

To start the tie, The Machine was at his clinical best sealing the opening set 3-1 with 3/3 on the outer ring but it was time for Williams to hit the front with his own prowess on the doubles.

He produced a 119 checkout to seal the second set 3-1 to make it 1-1 and restore parity before sealing the third without reply to go one away from the win with 53% on the doubles.

But it was back and forth with Wade securing set four also to nil with an 84 checkout to send it all the way.

Both held throw and a clinical break occurred which saw the Welshman take it on double 20 last dart in hand with Wade waiting on 75 to pounce and send it to a tiebreak.
