One of the first big names have fallen in this year's PDC
World Darts Championship with Welsh wizard
Jim Williams dumping out
James Wade in a 3-2 sets win.
Williams produced a 90 average with four 180's and 50% on the doubles with the former semi-finalist continuing his poor form at the showpiece tournament and will now face Gabriel Clemens in Gerwyn Price's section.
The victor will face Alan Soutar or Danny Noppert / David Cameron who will play tomorrow in a big chance for the winner of that quarter.
To start the tie, The Machine was at his clinical best sealing the opening set 3-1 with 3/3 on the outer ring but it was time for Williams to hit the front with his own prowess on the doubles.
He produced a 119 checkout to seal the second set 3-1 to make it 1-1 and restore parity before sealing the third without reply to go one away from the win with 53% on the doubles.
But it was back and forth with Wade securing set four also to nil with an 84 checkout to send it all the way.
Both held throw and a clinical break occurred which saw the Welshman take it on double 20 last dart in hand with Wade waiting on 75 to pounce and send it to a tiebreak.
