Jiwa backing himself with 5000/1 shout to win PDC World Darts Championship: "If it's not me then I think Peter Wright might win it"

Prakash Jiwa faces Madars Razma in the opening round of the PDC World Darts Championship with Gary Anderson awaiting the winner and for the Indian ace, it will be his debut at the Ally Pally but he has a memory from a European Tour that he will take into the tournament.

"Not so much Ally Pally but I played in a European Tour in Dusseldorf against Mervyn King and I had 3,000 people chanting for me even after the game and going through to the next game. Even though I lost the match, I won the people over in Dusseldorf and that was an amazing experience," he said to Tungsten Tales.

'The Apache' also hopes that his walk-on song will carry favour and get the crowd on his side. "I've been there before as a spectator so I think I know what I'm expecting and hopefully my walk-on tune will get the crowd going and on my side."

"It's the biggest and greatest tournament in the world and I'm very honored and privileged to play in it."

Speaking of expectations, he backs himself to go all the way but if not Peter Wright is his tip."Winning the whole tournament. Realistically if I can get through three rounds, that would exceed all my expectations and would make me very happy.

"Prakash Jiwa 5000/1, if it's not me then I think Peter Wright might win it."
