Jones hit three ton plus checkouts en route with a high checkout of 143 as 'The Wanderer' moved past the Irish youngster.
Missed darts at double cost Teehan to begin the tie with seven being missed throughout the first set and Jones took it in consecutive legs despite having an average of just 79.
Both players improved in the second set with Jones's average sat at 87 while Teehan was sat at 86.6 and he drew level in a deciding leg.
The requisite set once again went to a deciding leg with Jones pinning 116 to regain the upperhand and go 2-1 up.
Teehan went 2-0 up in the next set but a break of throw for Jones made it 2-1 and he held to send it all the way. A last gasp double four though saw him tie it up again after Jones was sat on 48 to win.
After a run of deciding leg shootouts, Jones did the opposite in the next set breezing to victory pinning double eighteen to claim it 3-0 and go through 3-2 in sets.
