Jonny Clayton ruins Peter Wright's birthday with 104 average to reach quarter-finals of Belgian Darts Open

Jonny Clayton has qualified for the quarterfinals of the Belgian Darts Open in Wieze at the expense of Peter Wright. 'Snakebite' went down 6-4, leaving a sour note on his birthday.

Wright, however, started the match well. An 11-darter, 14-darter and two 15-darters gave the colorful Scot a 4-2 lead. Clayton fought back with two 12-darters.

Both players then missed many doubles to win the ninth leg. Wright missed five break opportunities, after which Clayton struck with his sixth chance on the double. The Welshman then took the win with a 13-darter.

Earlier in the afternoon, Ricardo Pietreczko also made it to the last eight of the Euro Tour tournament in Belgium. After an exciting match, the German took victory against Ryan Joyce 6-4.
